Hidden Paradise India's North East

SIKKIM , DARJEELING , KALIMPONG , GANGTOK

It's one of mesmerising average day being repeated at Bangalore and suddenly in night receives a call that are you willing to go North East trip ?. It was none other then Ritesh Bhaiya and this time I felt like it's a call rather then just being Phone call yes call from Heart. We talked almost 15 mins and those 15 mins decided my way to India's hidden paradise called North-East.

Before starting further let me tell you about the Paradise called North East India. It's consist of 7 states Assam , Sikkim , Nagaland , Meghalaya , Manipur , Tripura & Arunachal Pradesh thease 7 sisters creates what we known at Hidden Paradise of India infact when you visit there it's feeling which comes out straight from your heart.

So the plan was decoded , prepared and finalised in month of Feb 2017 that we will be in North East.

The places we finalised were Darjeeling then Kalimpong , then via Old Silk Route Sikkim and then Gangtok. Our Old gangs of wasseypur was ready and newly addition is Shankar Da , Yes Shankar Da and trip is dedicated to him. The Strong Muscle man with Golden Heart of-course I was after 7 pegs when i realised Haaa. Let's proceed further and cherish about that episode too in this letter...

THE START : TOWARDS BENGALURU STATION TO CATCH TRAIN FOR HOWRAH

It's was Shankar Da's first visit to India all the way from London after Marriage. And I was Ritesh was getting many other requests also from peoples to Join this trip but we sticked to our original plan and decided tat it will be original Gangs of Wasseypur Team only. But believe me after this trip it created Solid bond ever.

Another charm was Rishi's fourth birthday was approaching and the most surprising thing was my 9th Anniversary also falling in-middle of trip plan . We planned for 7 days followed by 2 days in Hometown (Tatanagar) and Ritesh Bhaiya's Home (Chitranjan). Here i must appreciate him that he is man who executed every things in such beautifully planned way so that while on trips no excuses and if and buts should be there. Soon we booked the Tickets to Kolkata yes Entire Team was prepared to assemble at Kolkata. Ranjan from Hyderabad , Me and Ambika from Bengaluru , Shankar Da from London & Ritesh Bhaiya from Kolkata.

We reached Howrah station to catch the famous Darjeeling Mail which will lead to NJP a.k.a New Jalpaiguri (West Bengal) the entrance to Queen of Hill Station. We started our Journey from Bangalore. Shankar Da started from Lodon and Rest Gang suppose to join us from Kolkata City of Joy. Here one member is left a.ka सख्त लौंडा that's name he was given for this trip. Yes Ranjan Ghosh who always blamed for taking pics other than us like he did in past trips but this time he was instructed to not to repeat the same other wise.....:) Time passed and day has come to Board teh train we boarded the train from Howrah and entire night

Now we backup of luggage and actual journey starts First glimpse of Toy Train on route.

We reached Darjeeling at noon 1 AM it's so cold and i got feeling that yes it's called Himalaya's with naked eye one can see the Great Himalaya's Eastern Range (Kanchenjunga) in background.

After settlement in Darjelling we stayed at Hotel giving us Nice view of Darjelling and first time got the defination of Cold yes it's DAMN cold in night. We enjoyed a lot with little sing , hangover of-course first round of medicines :).

Next morning peoples waked up with spectacular view of Himalaya and Misty morning with Hide and Seek game of Sun lights across the Hills. Ritesh Bhaiya couldn't wait to be in room he rushed imdt to capture the best moments from Roof Hills. Here one point need to be mentioned he always said to me “If you visit Darjelling believe me whenever you are crossed near Darjeeling then it's place you again and again want to come” Now let's continue it's 12:00 am almost in noon and we are on beautiful ride and entered Darjeeling via misty weather , cold weather with fragrance of Darjeeling. The Hotel we located is very near by but some how we missed it two times and again got a chance to see the World Famous DHF yes Darjelling Himalayan Railways. It was nostalgic feeling for me it's Azadi from all kinds. We checked in to hotel had a great lunch and Waited for evening it was misty evening and we thought to have take ride of famous Rail-car

. Of course it's cold and ek Peg to banta hai yaar. :) so we celebrated our first get toghter with Good Whiskey. Here are some moments --

Next Morning we have to see Darjeeling followed by Sight seeing the first one was The famous Batashia Loop where Toy Train comes as destination and you can have view of Kanchenjunga from top. Really as seen in movie Barfi it was live in front of my eyes. Some moments ..

Since we already checked out the hotel and in way to Kalimpong our next destination the home stay was booked and it was going to be rocking night since my marriage anniversary also there. We checked into home stay by 4 PM in evening and ready for rock. The place was mesmerising . We started Bonfire and some music followed by Tarana by all followed by my marriage anniversary celebration.

So relaxed so much beautiful scenes and much more. Next morning we gone to Batasia Loop followed by entry into Gangtok the capital of Sikkim from West Bengal (aka GTA Gorkhaland Terrestrial Administration) we started on road this time vehicle was changed and soon after some time travelling all the way via ghats we entered into Sikkim.

We were going Sikkim by following the Great Silk Route and here i will present some Grands snaps of Silk Route.

This was most scenic route in way towards sikkim ZULUK all the mountains very silent and Army camps where life teach you that National Pride is topmost priority. Here are Grand Moments.

Sikkim was full of chaos and un-imaginery place so nicely laid down streets. The most lovely thing you will like about it's cleanness and traffic discipline every one seriously following the rules and regulation. It's perhaps only state in INDIA where plastic is seriously BAN even on highways you will never see plastics.

Gangtok is lovely place specially teh MG Road where one can seat and enjoy the evening along with Hot cup of coffe or wherever :)

We saw many things in MG Road that eveving and let me tell you we had our first South Indian Breakfast in MG Road only next morning.

Sikkim was final place before we started our return journey towards home but via our actual homes and the place was same where we started all this. Thease 7 days passed we never realised and that time also came when we again reached to NJP station but for different destination.

I will always remember this trip as once in Life time because it was sudden and like magic for me. The places , Pics with Indian Army at Highest point and Saluting the National Flag at Peak. It was just awesome peoples our core Gang.
